Learning Lift Off

Endeavour class had a fabulous learning lift off, tasting, evaluating and then designing their own smoothies. They discussed super foods such as spinach and blueberries, learning how they provide fabulous nutritional benefits for different parts of our bodies. Superfoods are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants with anti-inflammatory properties.  They also promote good physical and mental health whilst controlling weight gain.

We selected our own base liquid from a choice of orange juice, pineapple juice or coconut water. Then we chose 3 additional ingredients to add to our smoothie. We had a choice of blueberries, spinach, mango, banana, mixed tropical fruits, mixed berries and kiwi.  We enjoyed blending the smoothies, learning how to use the equipment safely, then finally tasting and evaluating our final product.  The adults were happy to taste test all of our smoothies and very proud of our adventurous and open-minded attitudes when tasting our own products.
