Term 4
Frampton Farm Trip
Loyalty class visited Frampton Farm on Tuesday as it links to our RE learning about Easter. The children and adults had a lovely time seeing and feeding pigs, sheep, Alpacas, cows and horses. The highlight had to be seeing the new baby lambs! Back in school Loyalty class wrote about the trip and how knew lambs represent new life.
Making Bird Feeders
To complete our Creative Curriculum work this term Loyalty class designed and made our own bird feeders! Once complete we hung them on the trees ready for the birds to enjoy!
Topic Lift Off
Mr McGregor’s Garden was destroyed by Peter Rabbit and his friends. Whilst watching the video we saw that Mr McGregor’s plants were growing tall and were colourful, we spotted lots of different vegetables. We also realised that the garden was organised into rows and the different plants were in order.
After watching a clip of the film we redesigned Mr McGregor’s garden for him!
We are going to learn about what plants need to grow? If all plants need the same conditions to grow? And how do plants grow? This term we are scientists!
We began by setting up an experiment growing cress seeds, we have 4 pots
- Water and sunlight
- No water and sunlight
- Water no sunlight
- No water no sunlight
We will watch and see what happens.
Maths
In maths this term we are finishing our learning on the 2-, 5- and 10-times tables we have been both multiplying and dividing! Next, we are moving onto length and height and will be measuring all sorts of objects!
RE
In RE we are discovering who the Patron Saints of the countries in the United Kingdom are! After refreshing our memories about the four countries of the United Kingdom we focussed on St George this week and retold his story using stick puppets!
English
In English we have written some fantastic descriptions of Peter Rabbit using conjunctions and expanded noun phrases to describe not only Peter’s character but also appearance.
